A HIGH-SPEED sports car smashed into parked cars causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.
The silver Porsche left a trail of destruction before speeding off from Malvern Road in Bournemouth on Tuesday night (May 17).
Police said a total of six cars were damaged in the incident, which left residents in shock and vehicles and walls damaged.
Resident John Boman told how he and his wife were watching television at 10.20pm when they heard a loud bang.
"There was an almighty crash and the revving of an engine immediately outside our house" he said. "It sounded like someone had come off a motorbike.
"When I looked outside there was a silver Porsche wedged into the front of my wife's car, which was halfway up the wall."
Mr Boman said the vehicle manoeuvred out of the situation and sped off, striking another car as it passed.
"That car then hit another, and the wall collapsed onto yet another car" he added.
"It all happened very quickly."
Police confirmed reports that one man got out of the vehicle and ran away from the scene. The driver remained in the car.
Worried residents called police who carried out a search of the area and a Porsche was recovered in Redbreast Road, Moordown, later the same night.
The vehicle is now the subject of forensic examination and inquiries are continuing.
Anyone with information relating to the vehicle are urged to call Dorset Police on 01202 222222.
