HERE'S one to get the adrenalin pumping - a briskly paced, angsty thriller packed with cliff-hanger sequences.
Guy Walters sets the action during the German occupation of the Channel Isles, imagining Alderney as the scene of Hitler's last stand against the Allies. For here the race is on to turn the tide of the war against the Allies and deploy the "V3" secret weapon.
Running alongside all this is a secondary storyline set in 1990, in which a Jersey newspaperman suspects that something is being hushed up when workmen fall victim to a mysterious illness.
This is an exciting roller-coaster ride of a read which rattles along to a thoroughly satisfying conclusion.
