DANCE star Kristy Cullen hopes to dance to success this weekend after her partner made a remarkable recovery from a foot injury.

The 18-year-old from Weymouth has wowed television audiences across the nation in the BBC primetime show Strictly Dance Fever.

But her partner Nathan Potter suffered a foot injury, potentially jeopardising the pair's chances in this weekend's contest.

Nathan is suffering from a soft tissue sprain injury to the foot, caused during rehearsals for the show

A BBC spokeswoman confirmed: "Nathan will be dancing with Kristy tomorrow.

"The physiotherapist said he's made a remarkable recovery.

"However, he can't wear heels and has to wear a leg splint during the group dance, but all in all this is good news for them both."

Kristy, who studies performing arts at Weymouth College and lives with her parents and two brothers, in the Flintstones Guesthouse on Weymouth seafront, was delighted to have her partner back on his feet.

She said: "We've worked so hard at our mambo and I was devastated that we couldn't perform.

"Nathan is the best partner you could ask for and I needed him back on his feet."

Kristy's family was overjoyed with the news that came after a tense week, and the flags were flying in celebration at her

parents' guesthouse in Carlton Road South, just off the Esplanade. Kristy's dad Patrick Cullen said: "We're elated. We know Toby, who was going to replace Nathan, is a good dancer but Kristy has spent the last three months with Nathan and she was almost ready to come home. She didn't want to dance without him.

"We've got bunting out and posters all over the place."

Nathan injured himself during training for last week's show and although the couple didn't dance last week, amazingly the public still voted them to stay on the show.

Nathan added: "To leave the competition at this stage would have broken my heart.

"I've still got so much to prove and so much to give. And I owe it to Kristy to continue - we both really want to win."

The show has been moved from tonight to tomorrow at 5.35pm because of the Eurovision Song Contest.
