A BRANSGORE couple have been reunited with their cocker spaniel Millie after the dog's picture appeared in the Daily Echo.
Millie was allegedly stolen from her kennel in Claire and Chris Jeffery's rural home off Lyndhurst Road on Wednesday, May 11.
She went missing when her kennel and run were prised apart between 5pm when Mrs Jeffery went out and 6pm when her husband arrived home.
The distraught couple printed out missing posters and put them up at prime locations in the area and also contacted the Echo.
"We got her back on Thursday. We got a phone call from a guy who said he had her. He bought her from some travellers in Wareham," said overjoyed Mrs Jeffery, 27.
The man, who lives in Poole, was alerted to the fact the young bitch he had bought could have been the missing Millie by family and friends who had seen the dog's picture in the Echo.
He had handed over £200 for Millie.
"We gave him that money back. It was a small price to pay to get her back to be honest," said Mrs Jeffery.
"I think the publicity in the Echo, having her photo plastered all over the area - plus the posters we did - helped contribute to getting her back safely."
