TWO neighbours are among the first readers to win £100 cash in our High Five competition.
Retired machine operator Michael Stone and Winfrith police headquarters control room dispatcher David Morris both live in All Saints Road, Dorchester.
A delighted Mr Stone said: "I have never won a competition before in my life. My wife, Christine, and I hope to go horse racing soon so the money will come in very handy.
"It was just luck of the draw that I won. I do sometimes enter competitions but I only did this one on the spur of the moment."
Mr Morris was at home when we rang with the good news and he said: "I like you a lot!
"My wife, Hannah, and I have three sons so we will be spending the money on spoiling them with a nice day out somewhere."
In all, five readers each collected £100 in what was the first of five such weekly Echo competitions which will be run every Saturday until June 18. The other winners were Esmee Nicholls, of Bayard Road, Weymouth, Mr L Mahoney, of Dorchester Road, Weymouth and Mr and Mrs Whalley, of Grove Avenue, Weymouth.
