TO celebrate one hundred years of Guiding, the Weymouth Trefoil Guild members are holding a party at St Aldhelm’s Church Hall, 2.30pm-5pm on Saturday, February 27.
Anyone who has been involved with Guiding is welcome to telephone 776268 for an official invitation.
TO mark one hundred years since the first ‘Thinking Day’ on Sunday, February 28, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows meet at St Aldhelm’s Church from 3pm.
Coinciding with the birthdays of Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, it is hoped that as many members of the guiding movement, present and past, will participate and money raised will go towards the emergency Shelterbox appeal.
NEXT month’s Residents’ Community Meeting is set for 7.30 pm on Wednesday, March 10 at Holly Court.
Current issues will be discussed and a range of matters of interest will be considered, with reports on actions taken since the last meeting.
There will be a presentation on the Weymouth & Portland Partnership by the new Chair, Mr. Peter Mankin, who will describe the distribution of grants, funding and the direction that he envisages for the partnership under his leadership.
This is a popular meeting that has become a regular feature of community involvement for the neighbourhood and is a valuable means of communication for residents.
Car parking for those attending this meeting is available at the Lidl Foodstore (opposite Holly Court), by kind permission of Lidl management.
A SPRING Fair is to be held on Saturday, March 20 from 2.30pm-4pm at St Aldhelm’s Church in order to raise funds for the new hall.
Planned as a family fun festival for the whole community, a range of stalls, children’s Easter crafts and sideshows are being prepared.
Fairtrade teas will be sold and the aim is to have a happy, successful event.
