THOUSANDS of women tackled sweltering conditions to raise money for Cancer Research at the 2009 Race For Life at Kingston Maurward.
In temperatures pushing 80F, the 2,500 participants, clad in dazzling pink outfits, wound their way around the 5km course.
Actor Martin Clunes sent the runners and walkers on their way.
This year’s Race For Life was the biggest ever, with an extra 500 places opened up due to the phenomenal popularity of the event. For many, it was the chance to do their bit for loved ones affected by cancer.
Emma O’Neill, part of the Charminster Chicks team from St Mary’s First School, said: “We have all been affected in some way by cancer, so we wanted to do something.”
