A MAN has died and a woman was injured after a light aircraft got into difficulties and crashed in North Dorset.
The pilot who died, a man aged in his 60s from the Hindon area of Wiltshire, made a Mayday broadcast before the incident.
Police said the plane came down in Stourton Caundle, near Stalbridge yesterday.
The only passenger, a 25-year-old woman also from Hindon, was airlifted to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester by Dorset Police helicopter with serious but not life threatening injuries.
