- THE TRAVELLING Trends Fashion show staged by the Society for the Protection of Markham and Little Francis in aid of the fund to save the Town Green was a huge success and raised nearly £750.
£354 came from ticket sales, £44.81 from commission on clothing sold and the rest from donations, refreshments and the raffle.
Emmanuel, Southill, was packed with people for the event and proved to be a good choice of venue with plenty of space - necessary with so many clothes to browse through after the show. Everyone seemed to have a really good time. The volunteers who modelled a selection of clothes did a grand job for an appreciative audience.
A recent street collection in town raised an additional £71.34 for the charity.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make both these efforts such a success.
