I am neither an expert on ancient monuments nor a civil engineer but have read about and recently saw the sorry state of the white horse at Osmington for myself.
I am wondering whether anyone with a better understanding of such matters has looked at the feasibility of using some of the large amount of plant currently moving thousands of tons of chalk only two miles away to re-carve/repair/re-cover the white horse.
What a super goodwill gesture it would be (if possible) by the relief road contractor to the town.
