THE world is still watching Wellworths – and so is West Dorset MP Oliver Letwin, who was at the store this week to catch up on developments.
Manager Claire Robertson updated the MP on how the store has been trading so far, and about the huge amount of goodwill which is still drawing well-wishers to the store, two months after it opened.
After the media attention surrounding the launch, visitors from the UK, Europe and even the USA have been continuing to call in to look round and wish Claire and her staff good luck.
A coach party of tourists from the Midlands, on their way to Weymouth, made a diversion to Dorchester simply to visit the shop recently.
Eight weeks in, trade is meeting the targets that Claire had been aiming for, and the staff are gearing up for what they hope will be a busy summer.
Mr Letwin said: “This is a fantastic business.
“I am absolutely confident that Wellworths will go from strength to strength.”
