FOR those of you who would like an evening out and a chance to win some prizes, go along to the Bingo evening at Littlemoor Community Hall on Friday 22nd May at 7pm.
Eyes down at 7.30, last game 9.00pm approx.
A warm welcome awaits you.
Refreshments will be available.
The sessions will be run fortnightly on Friday evenings.
Do go along and join in the fun, you never know, you may be a winner!
- Weymouth and Portland Housing are holding a coffee morning at 10.30 on the 29th of this month at Bincombe Court. It’s an informal get together for all WPH tenants and a chance to discuss any issues you have with your area housing officer.
- A reminder from the library that book requests are now free so order in your favourite author and enjoy a good read.
And a note to all young parents that it’s never too early to get your children interested in books.
For the under 4’s there’s the Bookstart Book Crawl. Borrow a book, get a sticker, collect four stickers and then receive a certificate!
A fun way to get children reading early.
- And finally a very heartfelt thank you to all those ’older’ citizens who responded to my request for tales of Littlemoor in years gone by.
I’ve passed them on to the writing group and hopefully they will soon be compiling a short history of our area. It isn’t going to run to hundreds of pages but it will give an idea of what life was like here over the past 50 years or so.
And if there is anyone else out there who has his, or her, own stories of life in the early years and hasn’t replied yet, it isn’t too late. Get in contact with me and I’ll keep passing them on.
