ALL roads lead to Lynch Lane in Weymouth on Wednesday, May 27.
That’s when Weymouth and Portland Housing (WPH) will be holding its Free Fun Day.
The grounds of the company’s headquarters at Egdon Hall will be alive with activities and entertainment for all the family.
The fun kicks off at 11am when Great Britain’s double Olympic sailing gold medallist Sarah Ayton officially opens the event.
Sarah will be signing autographs, posing for pictures and saying hello to tenants and visitors until midday.
Other star attractions include a visit from Weymouth SeaLife Park mascot, Croc, face painting, children’s competitions, a free bouncy castle and merry-go-round and a chance to meet Eli, the lion from the Dorset Echo Kids Club.
WPH managing director, Kevin Dey said: “Our staff have worked really hard to put on a great show and it promises to be a fantastic day out. The event is open to all our tenants and anyone else who would like to pop in and say hello.
“There are fun activities for all the family, with Sarah Ayton’s appearance being one of the highlights. We also have stands representing some really interesting organisations and there will but lots of free information, help and advice on issues from housing to health matters, finance to business.”
He added: “One of Dorset’s most successful days out is the Dorset Police Blue Light day at Winfrith and, albeit, on a much smaller scale, the WPH Fun Day has been modelled on that.”
The day also sees the launch of the WPH\Dorset Echo Step Up, Start Up initiative which is designed to help people set up in business by handing out grants following a Dragons’ Den-style selection.
There will be demonstrations by the police, ambulance and fire services, visits from Weymouth Football Club and Weymouth Speedway, and lots more.
The day runs until 3pm and more information about Step Up, Start Up is available by calling Kathy on 0207 9214324.
