SINGERS will be hoping to realise their dreams at the final of the Star Sensations tomorrow night.
Six hopefuls from south Dorset will be hoping to be crowned Star Sensation 2009 at the Dorset Echo-backed talent show at the Carrington House Hotel in Bournemouth.
They are Tom Andrews, Sophie Easthope, Lauren Medwey, Stacey Thomas, Carly Turner and Leanne Warne.
Competition organiser and talent judge Darren Burt said: “It will be a great night. There is some exceptional talent in the final.
“The acts were so outstanding from the Weymouth area that we ended up putting six through instead of two.”
Fifteen singers reached the finals after heats in Bournemouth, Southampton and at the Centenary Club in Jubilee Close, Weymouth.
Judges at the final are Daily Echo editor Neal Butterworth, Gary Butler from music production company MMG, X Factor 2007 finalist Niki Evans, Eleanor Pack from the NSPCC and singer Helena Mace.
The winner will claim a £1,000 prize, a day in a recording studio and the title of Star Sensation.
Mr Burt, competition organisers CFK Promotions, also hopes to be able to present a cheque to NSPCC’s Childline for £2,500 to £3,000 raised through the competition.
He said that there will be five to six record label representatives at the final. He also hopes that celebrities from the Dorset and Bournemouth area may attend.
The doors for the final open at 6.30pm before the show starts at 7.30pm. Friends and family will be cheering the finalists on but the show is also open to the public.
There will also be a routine from a dance group called Beat.
CFK Promotions launched the contest to find the best singer in Dorset and the South Coast.
Hopefuls sang in two heats at the Centenary Club in Weymouth. Judges picked two finalists but there was also an audience vote for the third finalist at each heat.
Mr Burt said: “The standard amongst all the finalists ranges from very good to exceptional.
“It should be a great night.”
