THE unanimous vote of about 150 people voting in favour of compulsory purchase of both the Old Swan at Toller Porcorum and the Three Cups at Lyme Regis, on Social, Economic and Environmental grounds, was very heartening.

I would like to thank all who attended and participated including all panel members.

In a turbulent meeting members of the audience said they found the responsiveness of Sue Farrant to their concerns particularly helpful.

Matters will now, we are sure, take their logical course for both Toller Porcorum and Lyme Regis, and will be reviewed at a meeting in Lyme Regis in a month’s time.

We believe the case for compulsory purchase is well overdue. (We also believe the situation at the White Hart at Beaminster should be more closely studied).

We met with Oliver Letwin on Friday and he is gathering information with a view to achieving solutions.

The role of the West Dorset District Coumcil councillors is extremely important in the stages ahead, and I am offering to reach each of them with a lap-top-showing of the photographic slides used at the presentation.

These need little commentary, and I would be very interested to hear from any of the councillors on 07990-583167 who have not yet seen these pictures and would like to spend a few minutes viewing them in order to be kept up to speed.
