Well done the Chapelhay Community Partnership in planing the restoration of the old town hall and gardens (‘The hall of fame’, Echo, May 5).
I am not surprised that the council is enormously supportive of this project.
It is a Grade 11 listed building which should have had support from council for the last 50 years and not left to decay as now to need some £140k of work.
The CCP taking on the old town hall will get the council out of a big hole.
Perhaps the post of Pavilion development manager is now not required and we could donate the £45,000 salary to this very worthy cause.
