- WHEN I first met Ryan Hope it was at a meeting arranged by Julie Hursthouse, the community development officer and attended by members of COPS, the Westham Community Group and young people of Westham.
The meeting was held to encourage the youngsters of Westham to do something for themselves with the help of various organisations.
Among the noisy youngsters Ryan sat and listened quietly to what was discussed and eventually agreed to become Chairman of the Youth Forum.
Since then he has worked very hard for the forum and has helped to make Westham a better place to live, giving youngsters an interest in their area, activities, projects and he has helped to build a better relationship between the young and the elderly.
Chris Edwards the Chairman of COPS felt that Ryan deserved some recognition for his hard work and nominated him for a CHANGEit award.
After getting through the local heat, Ryan won national recognition in the performance category in London.
