- WE DON’T often get an opportunity to go to a fashion show in Weymouth so ladies, now’s your chance. Why not book Thursday, May 14 in your diary, when Travelling Trends are to stage a fashion show at Emmanuel Church, Southill, to help raise funds for the Society for the Protection of Markham and Little Francis (registered charity no. 1128028).
Tickets are priced £3 and are only available in advance from local outlets or by contacting Cathrin on 01305 776151.
Doors open at 7pm and the show will begin at 7.30pm.
The show will feature top quality high street fashion at prices to suit everyone.
You can try before you buy and take away what you choose on the night.
Refreshments will be available.
All profits from this event will go towards the society’s ongoing campaign to preserve the town green, situated between Westham and Wyke Regis, as accessible public open space for posterity.
- THE RECENT Spring Fayre held at Wyke community centre in Ryemead Lane was well supported and raised approximately £800 for this years nominated charity, the Parkinsons Disease Society, whose local branch happens to be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Wyke Weenies, who meet in the centre, are presently staging a raffle to raise additional funds to add to this magnificent total.
Everyone had a great time at the fayre. Hayley’s face painting proved especially popular, raising even more towards the grand total than she has in previous years.
Hats of all shapes and sizes were proudly paraded by spring bonnet competition entrants of all ages (and presumably shapes and sizes)! Everyone was rewarded for their creative efforts.
The displays by Amberlite Majorettes and Juno Belly Dancers proved very popular as always.
Many thanks to everyone who turned up and helped make this event such a success.
