DORCHESTER’S Hearn Group has recognised apprentices with a head for heights.
Apprentices from Hearn Roofing received awards at a ceremony at the Victoria Hotel in the county town.
The roofing firm currently has seven apprentices working towards qualifications overseen by the South Wales and South West Roof Training Group in association with Construction Skills.
Elliott Southern claimed the title of most improved roofing apprentice of 2008, with Kane Wakefield winning the apprentice of the year title.
They received their awards from Hearn Group managing director Shaun Hearn, who also handed Daryl Fox a special one-off award for individual achievement.
Commercial director of Hearn Roofing Ian Pollock said: “In the building and construction trade proper training should always be a central part of the operation and the Hearn Group puts a great deal of emphasis on quality of training.
“We’re very pleased with the achievements of our apprentices in the last 12 months.”
