I would say that Mr Erskine (‘Sorry, it’s too early to use a pass’, Echo, April 16)was very lucky to get away with paying £1.60 as if he lived in Southill it would have cost him £3.00.

The first bus after 09.30 is 09.55 from Radipole village and gets into town at about 10.15 which makes a transfer (after a dash up to the esplanade) very ldifficult if you have to get further.

The fare before 09.55 is £1.40.

There are a lot of lonely pensioners living out here, dependant on the buses to get out who feel they are being penalised.

There are no buses on Sundays or Bank Holidays and the last bus leaves Weymouth at 17.50 so an evening out is out as well - unless you're rich enough to afford a taxi both ways.
