I refer to the article ‘My shock after A37 car crash horror’ (Echo, April 15) My son and his friend were the two young men in the crash on the A37.

Through the Echo I would like to thank and express my gratitude to Matthew Phillips, Mrs Evans, her 16-year-old daughter and all the emergency services for saving my son and his friend's lives.

Once again it shows how privileged we are to have services like this, we should value them more and stop being so ready criticise them.

From the comments in your article it appears that this is an accident black spot and wish campaigners success with improvements.
