GROWERS showed off their spring flowers in a show celebrating the best blooms in town.
Visitors took in the sights and smells at the 27th Broadwey, Upwey and District Horticultural Annual Spring Show.
Crocuses, hyacinths, daffodils and tulips added a burst of colour to the Upwey and Broadwey Memorial Hall.
Show secretary Evelyn Morris said: “We were delighted with the quality of the show.
“We also had an increased number of exhibitors, which has now gone up to 31.”
Among the winners at the show was Ray Hayward, of Milborne St Andrew, who won honours for his daffodils and one of the show’s main awards.
Another major horticultural award was won by Bill Howarth, while Sarah Studley was the woman with the most points in horticulture and won a handicraft and photographic award.
Mrs Studley’s grandson Ben Studley, five, proved that growing is a family affair by taking home the Children’s Cup. The flower arts section was won by Brenda Woodsford.
