Can we put the Portland supermarket issue to rest for now? The decision has been made.
It’s all got too personal – all I’ve done is to write a couple of letters to the Echo and one to the planners.

Jack White (‘Easton is just not the right location’, you Say, April 11) thinks Easton is not the right place, but where else?
I was the only one to propose a supermarket at Osprey Quay at the Local Plan hearing in 2004.
Five years on, why have so many belatedly thought of it? It is now far too late. Anyway, that location would have done nothing to boost Easton.
Jack – it was the traffic consultants endorsed by both county and borough council engineers, not me - who reported that the traffic impact will not be serious.
