POLICE have charged a man after a grandfather from Bere Regis died in a crash on the Puddletown bypass.
Didier Gillis, aged 45, who is Belgian, faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a collision.
He is in custody and is due to appear for the first time before a court at Bournemouth Magistrates tomorrow.
The charges come after a fatal collision involving a tanker and a tractor near the Tolpuddle Ball junction on the A35 Puddletown bypass.
Tractor driver Dennis Watts, aged 56, of Manor Farm Road, Bere Regis, died in hospital after suffering fatal head injuries in the collision on Tuesday.
