THE Friends of Radipole Park & Gardens are once again supporting the Great Parks Charity Walk this Sunday, April 19.
This annual event raises funds for the British Heart Foundation and details can be found on both of the notice boards in the park and gardens car parks.
The walkers will pass through Radipole Park and Gardens between 9.30am and 1pm and the Friends are seeking help from members to support the committee as marshals and at the check point.
People are needed to spare about an hour and a half each, from 9.30am to 11am am and from 11am to 12.30pm.
Anyone able to join in and help for either of these sessions is asked to let the committee know on 01305 775615 as soon as possible.
Support with this will be very much appreciated.
- RPG Friends chairman Jim Sinclair is delighted to have heard from Weymouth Golf Club, which has pledged a wonderful £500 towards the swings fund.
This means the Friends have achieved their target of the £1,000 difference between the £6,000 required and their grant application of £5,000.
- THE Friends of Lodmoor Country Park have just received the best in show trophy for their scarecrow entry in the Dorset Wildlife Trust Show.
- THE next Residents‘ Community Meeting is at St. Augustine’s Church Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 6.
The agenda will include an update on issues brought forward at the last Pact input from the Friends Groups representing Lodmoor Country Park and Radipole Park and Gardens and there will be various speakers contributing to a discussion on the local economy, with the effects of the current economic situation.
