RESCUERS of a wealthy businessman and his pregnant wife who crashed their helicopter into the sea in Lyme Bay are desperately seeking the couple.
Art dealer Philip Burgess and eight-weeks-pregnant wife Lisa were rescued from the wreckage of their helicopter when it crashed off Charmouth in thick fog on Easter Monday 10 years ago.
Lyme Regis RNLI crew and local fishermen launched a major search and the husband and wife were eventually spotted by fisherman John Walker, after spending more than an hour in the icy water.
Now on the anniversary of the crash, the rescuers are remembering the events of that day.
Mr Walker, skipper of Miss Pattie, recalls: “We went out straight away and more by luck than judgement suddenly out of the dense fog we saw the helicopter. It was upside down and a man and a woman were sitting on it.”
The rescuers are also keen to meet the couple’s daughter, Charley-Nicole, who would now be aged nine.
If you can help track down Mr and Mrs Burgess call the Dorset Echo on 01305 830999.
