A TRACTOR driver has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after his vehicle was involved in a collision with a tanker near Dorchester, police say.
Emergency services were called to the crash scene at Tolpuddle Ball, on the A35 Puddletown bypass, at around midday today.
Dorset Police said the driver of the yellow agricultural tractor, registered to a Dorchester firm, was thrown from his vehicle.
He suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and has been rushed to Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester for treatment.
Both eastbound lanes of the carriageway were closed following the smash, which also involved a Belgium-registered tanker.
