Residents and organisations are being invited to comment on plans for environmental work to protect and enhance Purbeck’s heritage.
A draft revised Purbeck Heritage Strategy is open to public consultation until May 31, prior to the launch of the approved strategy later in the summer.
The new strategy will guide the work of the Purbeck Heritage Committee over the next five years.
It will also build on its previous successes such as securing Heritage Lottery funding and volunteer time to carry out gorse clearance at Purbeck Ridge, farm apprenticeship schemes and the development of the Burngate Stone Centre.
To obtain a copy of the latest strategy, call Alison Turnock, Purbeck heritage officer at Purbeck District Council on 01929 557337, email heritage@purbeck-dc.gov.uk or visit the Purbeck heritage pages at www.purbeck.gov.uk
