BUILDERS’ merchant Travis Perkins, which has sites in Dorset, says people should insulate their homes properly this winter to save over £300 on energy bills.
The firm says loft insulation is often a good place to start as half a home’s heat is lost through the roof.
Cavity wall insulation is also advised, or simply adding a hot water tank insulating jacket which will help retain heat.
David Manning from Travis Perkins said: “Insulation is often over-looked, particularly with so many renewable energy products around.
“Good insulation will pay for itself in just over two years.”
