Barbara and Jane were manning the reception and the pool was buzzing with activity. I noticed there were mini polo goals and apparently the pool was now hosting mini polo and had invited the Carlisle water polo team to come along and help with the coaching. Great for the kids, great for the sport!
At the entrance to the pool, local fruit and vegetables were being sold to raise money for the pool. What enterprise!
Our swim started with us weaving our way through the numerous patrons but very quickly a lane was produced and we were able to swim with relative ease. Even so, the occasional large float or inflatable would drift into our lane. We loved the atmosphere of this pool and the sense of fun. A very generous collection and two cups of tea were quickly produced. Nice pool, lovely people.
We were not particularly looking forward to a day swimming in relatively small pools but ended up loving it. How wrong we were!
