The journey from Woburn to Eversholt was less than 10 minutes but during that time, the sun came out. This was another pool that was closed because of the poor weather when we arrived yesterday afternoon. However, we had an extraordinary bit of luck in that we met two super youngsters on the roadside who know Cheryl Keeley who managed the pool. They tried ringing her but she was out and then gave us her number to ring her later. This we did and Cheryl was happy to open up the pool especially for us. A young chap called Josh arrived to lifeguard for us. What a privilege to meet such nice people! As for the pool, it was wonderful. It had dome shaped windows on one side, which allowed one to look out onto lush green expanse of a cricket pitch. The pool seemed to be attached to the village social centre. Imagine arriving on a sunny Sunday afternoon, enjoying your swim and having a picnic whilst watching the cricket match. This was such an English setting and you felt that people really cared about the place. Definitely a top lido!
