We arrived at the pool with the sky still grey and cloudy. The nice lady who ran it made us warmly welcome. She had closed early the previous day but after Dave had left a message she had rung us back to confirm that the pool would be open at 10am.. There was a herd of deer grazing on a lush meadow as we drove through the Woburn estate to get to the pool. It had the estate wall as a boundary edge on one side.and beautiful mosaic tiles. It was very well maintained. Apparently the Duke of Bedford had given the pool to the community and it was run by a trust. As I swam my 70 odd lengths I kept looking for the giraffes poking their heads over the wall. We were invited to use the ladies changing room (my second in 24 hours!) as there was a hot shower there. This was a good start to our second day on the road.
Our picture shows me completing my mile.
