Armed with a street map of the area around Jesus Green from Oliver, we managed to park up by the river and make the short walk over the bridge to the pool. We explained our mission to the chap at reception and made our way into the pool. First impressions were a big wow! This lido was a hundred yards long and for its length, quite narrow. It looked like a long blue never ending road and of course, counting lengths was not a problem. After we changed Alexandra Buxton came up to us and explained that she was a friend of Jesus Green and that she had a cup of coffee, chocolate and dates for us afterwards (what a lovely lady!). Her daughter Miranda (my daughter is also called Miranda) was already swimming in the pool and we joined her for our 18 lengths. The water was pleasantly cool being unheated which we preferred. I did manage to bump into one swimmer who politely told me there was a one-way system in operation but I was still a little confused as there were no lane ropes to guide me. Just under half an hour later we joined Alex for our refreshments and a chat. This was lovely friendly sociable pool with lots going on. We loved the whole ethos of the place. This was definitely a top pool to visit.
In our picture, Dave is again vertically challenged by Miranda.
