Diana was at the wheel today and we continued our journey through Essex to Brightlingsea eventually finding the pool nestling behind the seafront. The young reception staff and lifeguards were very welcoming and friendly. Many families and teenagers were using the pool and it looked a well use facility. The pool was a good long and wide one and we were able to swim our 34 lengths in reasonable time although my arms and shoulders were beginning to ache, the legacy of 13 miles swimming in three days. As we left the lido the lifeguards were there to shake our hand and wish us well on our journey. Why do young people seem to get a bad press?
