A man has been arrested after police were called to an elderly woman needing medical attention in Weymouth.
Police say they received a report from a third party that an elderly woman needed medical attention at an address on Preston Road in Weymouth at 1.25pm yesterday, Tuesday.
Both police and the ambulance service attended.
The woman has been taken to hospital.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He remains in police custody at this time.
A police cordon was still in place at the address last night, close to the entrance of Weymouth Bay Holiday Park, while officers carried out inquiries.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "It is believed that the arrested man and the woman are known to one another.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we are unable to provide any further information at this time."
