A town centre venue has become the canvas for a fabulous Christmas display.
Sixth form students from Westfield Arts College joined Weymouth artist Nicki Greenham by adding a bit of festive cheer to the windows of Dry Dock in St Thomas Street.
The amazing Christmas window depicts an impressive wintery scene featuring a snowman, three penguins and a Christmas tree complete with presents underneath.
It was part of a community art project that also invited members of the public to get involved.
The students thoroughly enjoyed seeing the scene come to life and learning about what paints to use.
They used the Post Office window display opposite Dry Dock to get inspiration for their own snowflake designs and ‘were proud to be part of something that everyone is going to see.’
Artist Nicki Greenham said: “It was really fun. Everyone contributed to the basic design, and the students each signed the window by writing their initials on one of the presents under the tree.
“We had all kinds of people joining in, and a lot of people who thought they couldn’t draw were encouraged to take part. It was wonderful to watch everyone’s confidence improve.
“One person who told us they couldn’t draw, painted a fabulous festive shark on the front door. Everyone contributed their ideas, it was an amazing couple of days.”
