Residents have raised concerns about the speed of vehicles through a village and vehicles mounting the pavement.
An officer from Dorchester Police held a community meeting in Broadmayne, where residents raised issues including the speed of drivers through the village, and cars driving on the pavement.
A spokesperson for Dorchester Police said: "PCSO Alison Donnison was at Broadmayne Corner Stores this afternoon for a Community Contact Point.
"One issue raised was the speed of vehicles through the village and traffic not preparing to stop against oncoming traffic and on occasions the oncoming traffic driving on the already narrow pavement. There was an incident when a lorry mounted the pavement to avoid an oncoming vehicle and its wing mirror was taken off by the bush outside the house.
"The Highway Code Rule 163 offers guidance by stipulating that you should give way to oncoming vehicles before overtaking parked cars.
"This essentially means: If the parked cars are on your side of the road, give way to oncoming traffic. If the parked cars are on the opposite side, you have priority.
"However, when a large number of cars are parked on the side of the road, there is not always the opportunity to pull over and allow the previously unseen oncoming traffic to proceed. Please be patient when using this part of the road and give way rather than pull up onto the pavement.
"When driving through a village, please drive within the speed limit but be prepared to reduce your speed or stop as per the road conditions and hazards."
