A large response has been underway on Weymouth Beach today.
Teams of people wearing hi-vis could be seen carrying out an oil spill response exercise.
The activity meant that a small section of the beach towards the pavilion was closed off whilst training was underway.
A tent had been set up with a cordon around, as well as bright orange inflatable materials that were stretching across the sand and into the sea.
There was also a rib moored on the shoreline.
HM Coastguard ran a similar training exercise in Portland Harbour back in March to test the response to a mock scenario in which 300 tons of fuel is spilled in waters east of Portland Harbour - however they are not involved with today's event.
Dorset Council have been contacted for further information.
