A PERSON was cut from a car by firefighters after a multi-vehicle crash.

Cranborne Road in Wimborne is closed this afternoon following a three-vehicle crash.

Dorset Police, DWFRS, and the Southwestern Ambulance Service attended the incident.

On arrival, firefighters were forced to use hydraulic equipment to free a person from one of the affected cars.

At the time of the incident, a spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "At 2.21pm on Tuesday 26 November 2024 we received a report of a three-vehicle road traffic collision in Cranborne Road in the Colehill area of Wimborne.

"Officers are currently in attendance with the ambulance and fire services.

"A road closure has been put in place and the local authority has been notified.

"A woman is being treated by the ambulance service and we do not have a condition update at this time."

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 2.30pm today (26 November) to Cranborne Road, Colehill to reports of a three-vehicle road traffic collision.

"Two crews; one from Poole and one from Wimborne attended the incident. One casualty was released using hydraulic cutting equipment and handed into the care of the ambulance service. Our stop was at 3.42pm."
