An impressive Christmas window display is spreading cheer in Dorchester.

Staff at the Weldmar Hospicecare Dorchester Outlet Charity Shop have gone above and beyond with their festive themed window display on the Marabout Industrial Estate.

Sarah Pavey, Marabout Outlet Manager said: “Weldmar has to raise £27,500 every single day in order to provide specialist care for local adults who have been diagnosed with a life limiting illness, and the support we provide for their loved ones.

“Our charity shops are an essential part of raising this money, and of our annual highlights is creating our Christmas window displays, using items that have been donated to us throughout the year.

“We'd like to thank everyone who had donated pre-loved items or shopped with us this year, and helped make a difference to those people we support across Dorset.”

The window has come alive with Christmas spirit with baubles hanging over a wintery scene complete with Father Christmas, elves, teddies, reindeer and candy canes which are set in front of a Christmas tree backdrop.

A second window casts a focus on clothing and accessories - depicting a mannequin as an angel set amongst a snowy scene.

The third and final window depicts another winter wonderland with gonks, polar bears, nutcrackers, a cart and even a nativity scene.

The colourful display is extremely inviting and better yet, everything in the windows is up for sale.

The aim of the design is to draw people in, with any monies spent going to the charity which provides specialist end of life care to people in Dorset who are living with a life limiting illness, which includes conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease, and heart disease.

The charity has previously said its services are facing increasing demand as costs spiral.

It estimates that the cost of providing care will be around £1m more this financial year than it is able to raise through fundraising and its charity shops.

Fundraising events include the ever popular Weldmar Summer Fete which is attended by Martin Clunes, as well as the 'Light Up a Life' events which are taking place across the county.
