WEYMOUTH'S festive tree is now in place ahead of the Christmas lights switch-on this weekend.
The 27ft tall town Christmas tree has pride of place in New Bond Street, Weymouth town centre.
It is currently being decorated ahead of the Christmas Lights Switch-On this Saturday, November 30 at 5pm.
A spokesman for Weymouth Town Council said: "The Christmas tree is now up in New Bond Street and at 27 feet tall, it's a whopper!
"We're now decorating it ahead of the Christmas Lights Switch-On this Saturday 30th November at 5pm, including adding a star on top."
Saturday's festivities will include hundreds of elves parading through the streets
The Elf Parade will return to town at 10am complete with stilt walkers, majorettes, and plenty of Santa's little helpers moving along to festive tunes.
The parade will start at New Bond Street where a stage will be set up for entertainment which will run throughout the day.
This includes fun with naughty elves, the Weymouth panto cast, local schools and dance groups, as well as live music from The Leggomen.
Organisers hope to make it bigger and better than ever before – and break a world record.
Later at 5pm, audiences can watch on as the town's Christmas tree and lights are officially switched on.
