A two vehicle crash caused part of the A31 to close for over an hour.
Emergency services attended and closed the road between Marsh Lane and the Botany Bay Inne pub junction at Winterborne Zelston.
Officers from Dorset Police arrived on the scene just before 11am along with the ambulance service and police said there were no 'serious injuries'.
The road was closed just before 11am and reopened at 12.20pm as the vehicles blocking the road were recovered.
It has been causing chaos to traffic travelling between Bere Regis and Sturminster Marshall with tailbacks in both directions, either side of the road closures.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 10.43am to a report of a two vehicle collision on the A31 at Winterborne Zelston
"Officers attended along with the ambulance service.
"There were no serious injuries reported and the road is now being reopened as the vehicles are off the road.
"Recovery has been requested for both vehicles."
