Residents in Poundbury have shared their concerns with police officers regarding anti-social behaviour in the area.

Officers from Dorset Police were out patrolling in the area of Pummery Square last week as they stepped up their patrols in the area following reports of anti social behaviour.

It comes after a rise in incidents in the Poundbury area in recent months.

In October, a 16-year-old boy was issued a Section 59 for driving a motorcycle in an anti-social manner, whilst in July teenagers were warned for kicking footballs against cars and houses.

Residents have also previously voiced their concerns over 'frightening' anti-social behaviour when gates were kicked in the area.

A spokesperson for Dorchester Police said: "Over the evenings of November 19, 20, and 21, officers PC 992 Owen and PC 649 Mortimer conducted targeted foot and mobile patrols in Poundbury, focusing on the area around Pummery Square.

"These patrols were carried out in response to reports of anti-social behaviour.

"During their patrols, the officers engaged with local residents, who shared concerns involving youths in the area and have provided reassurance. Patrols will continue to address reports and to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all.

"Please continue to report incidents to us so we can target our Patrols and take action.

"For non-emergencies, call 101 or report online. In an emergency, always dial 999."
