A local landmark that was meant to be lit up with candles to mark St Catherine's Day instead featured an indoor display, due to the storm.
The Candles on the Hill is an annual event held on St Catherine’s Hill on Sunday and commemorates St Catherine of Alexandria - an important early Catholic martyr - whose feast day is on November 25.
The event sees the community come together to remember their loved ones.
As part of the celebration, bags containing LED candle bulbs are placed in a circle on the hill representing a Catherine Wheel and along the pathway leading to the Chapel - however, was not be possible this year due to high winds and rain.
The event is organised by the Friends of St Nicholas group, who have confirmed that instead of the usual outdoor display, they would be taking the candles to the Chapel.
