A massive power cut is affecting more than a hundred postcodes and thousands of people.
The power cut is affecting properties in the DT1 and DT2 areas. These are in Dorchester around Maiden Castle Road, and a large area just south of the town, including West Stafford and Broadmayne.
SSE says that 140 postcodes have been affected, and estimates that 1,775 customers are impacted.
A spokesperson for SSE said: "We're aware of a fault causing customers in the area to be without power. We expect the cause of this to be the strong winds and heavy rain Storm Bert is bringing across our network.
"We've been tracking this weather for several days and have additional teams on hand to respond. It's possible that either the wind or rain has caused damage to our network and our teams will need to repair this as and when it's safe to do so.
"Our local engineers have been informed this area is without power and are working hard to get the lights back on."
Currently, it is estimated that power will be fully restored at 6pm.
SSE is currently dealing with 96 outages in England.
