A vulnerable homeless woman has been given a warm room for the night thanks to a helping hand from police on patrol.
Police Community Support Officers patrolling Weymouth town centre saw the woman yesterday evening (November 22).
They were able to arrange a warm room for her at a nearby hotel with help from other agencies.
A spokesperson for Weymouth & Portland Police said: "PCSOs Lucy and George have been out and about on foot patrol in Weymouth town centre this evening.
"On our travels, we came across a vulnerable homeless female who was cold and had nowhere to go.
"After liaising with other agencies, a nice warm room for the night was quickly sorted into a nearby hotel.
"Advice was also given to help the female in finding a more long-term solution.
"This is what community policing is all about, we can sleep easy tonight knowing that she is doing the same."
