REBUILDING a Dorset pub wall is being requested after its sudden collapse.
The news has been welcomed by the parish council at Winterborne Stickland which says it is looking forward to seeing the Crown fully re-opened.
Owners, Admirals Taverns, say they need to rebuild the entire gable wall and chimney to make good the building which dates back to the 18th century.
The wall collapsed, without warning, at the end of March.
A structural investigation carried out afterwards found that the wall had “many historical defects and deficiencies.”
The new gable wall will be finished with a render to match the existing with building work estimated to last for up to nine months.
