Large queues of traffic have been reported due to roadworks on the A35.
Tailbacks have been reported both ways along the stretch of road in Winterbourne Abbas due to temporary traffic lights.
One driver said: “There are substantial queues in the area. I am stuck in traffic, it was just east bound, but now it’s both ways.”
Works are being carried out in the area by Wessex Water as part of its flood alleviation scheme.
The team is sealing a section of damaged sewer with a structural liner to prevent ground water infiltration at the junction with Butt Farm Close to O/S Grange Cottage.
It is understood that that the works are planned to finish at 11.59pm today.
