Schools in Dorset will be taking part in a fundraising walk to help children traumatised by war.
Children from Shaftesbury School, Sherborne Primary and St Andrew's Primary in Yetminster will be taking part in a sponsored walk from November 20 to December 20.
All money raised will go towards Children and War UK - a charity which supports children traumatised by wars, disasters and other catastrophic events.
It is named William's Walk in honour of the charity's co-founder Professor William Yule. In 1993 UNICEF invited him to advise on setting up community based psychological programmes for children affected by the conflict in Bosnia. William’s mentoring and training of clinical psychologists to carry out the work is the basis for the charity's work today.
Charity trustee John Smith said: “By taking a sponsored walk of any length, the Dorset schoolchildren taking part will be making a positive contribution to the mental health of children suffering from traumatic events, as well as learning more for themselves about mental health issues. If any other schools want to take part, please get in touch.”
