A section of a busy road has officially closed for up to four days.

Radipole Lane, Southill has shut to traffic between the junction with Causeway and Grafton Avenue today (Monday, November 18) - Friday, November 22.

The closure has been put in place to allow Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out a new connection.

It covers a distance of approximately 250 metres and there are information boards on the road and in this area to inform people of the works.

A diversion route has also been put in place suggesting that drivers should start on Radipole Lane, onto Spa Road, Dorchester Road, Westerhall Road, Greenhill, Victoria Terrace, Royal Crescent, King Street, Swannery Bridge, Weymouth Way, Field Barn Drive and onto Radipole Lane and vice versa.

However, an easier route may be to continue along Radipole Lane past Radipole School, onto Dorchester Road towards Manor Roundabout, along Weymouth Way and back onto Radipole Lane.
